What is Just Report It?

Just Report It (JRI) is the University's online system for reporting a variety of incidents (past or ongoing) and other concerns. Any reports of sexual and gender-based harassment and violence, bias and discrimination/harassment, hazing, Clery Act compliance (by Campus Security Authorities), interference with speech rights, youth protection, and preventing and addressing threats or acts of violence should be submitted via JRI.

What happens after I submit a JRI?

Reports are reviewed by University staff and referred to the appropriate office for additional follow-up, as needed.

Would my report be confidential?

Reports are not confidential, but when reviewing and responding to a report, the University strives to only share information with individuals and offices who have a need to know or will assist in the response.  You may access Confidential Resources if you wish to discuss a concern or incident without reporting to the University at this time. Information you share with Confidential Resources will not be disclosed to University officials or any other person except in extremely limited circumstances.

How do I know you got my report and are actively working on the case?

Reporters should expect to receive a confirmation that a report was received but may or may not receive additional updates about the status of follow-up if they are not the subject of the behavior.

I am not affiliated with UVA. How do I submit a report?

JRI may only be used by students, faculty, and staff members who are currently affiliated with UVA. If you are not affiliated with UVA, you may report an incident or concern by contacting the relevant office below.
